Columbia School of Social Work Welcomes New Inductees

On Friday, April 17, 2015, the Columbia University School of Social work held its annual induction ceremonies into the Alumni Association Hall of Fame. The event began with a day-long conference, "Social Work in Times of Growing Concern," and ended with the Hall of Fame Reception. The Hall of Fame honors (the) alumni of the Columbia University School of Social Work who have made outstanding contributions to the theory and/or practice of social work and who, by their example, have added distinction to the social work profession.

The 2015 Hall of Fame Recipients are:
Barbara Berman, "70DSW
Helen Rehr/Ruth Fizdale Professor Emerita of Health and Mental Health, Columbia School of Social Work; Adjunct Professor, Mount Sinai School of Medicine; and Research Professor, Boston College

Teresa Gardian '80 Ph.D.
Former Adjunct Professor, Columbia School of Social Work and Former Director of Social Work, St. Luke's Hospital

Lois W. Whitman, Esq., '53
Founder and Former Director, Children's Rights Project; Human Rights Watch

VOICES Founding Director Mary Fetchet was on hand to congratulate three new inductees into the Columbia School of Social Work's Hall of Fame. Ms. Fetchet, a 2013 inductee is pictured with Dr. Gardian, Ms. Berman, and Ms. Whitman.
