9/11 memorial rises at Hyannis Fire Station

Two straight-as-an-arrow slabs of perfectly matched granite stand in the middle of a large open space next to the new Hyannis Fire Station, flanked by tall, silvery flagpoles. The 12-foot granite markers are in place as part of a project commemorating the 9/11 tragedy in New York City in 2001, soon to be completed as the Hyannis Firefighters’ Memorial Park and open to the public.
