With the support of our partners and grants, VOICES is able to advance initiatives which are vital to meeting the needs of victims' families, responders and survivors impacted by 9/11, while helping communities prepare for, respond to, and recover from other tragedies.
Our Areas of Focus

VOICES Center of Excellence for Community Resilience
The Center of Excellence for Community Resilience will share lessons learned and promote healing in the lives of those impacted by mass violence. It will collaborate with public/private partnerships that will include research, education and training to guide communities in preparing for, responding to, and recovering from traumatic events.

Programs & Events
VOICES offers a wide range of support services that promote healing and resilience in the lives of victims’ families and survivors. Programs are based on an ongoing assessment of the needs of those impacted to access information and resources. Events provide an opportunity to gather with a supportive community who shares a similar experience.

9/11 Living Memorial
The 9/11 Living Memorial commemorates the nearly 3,000 lives lost in New York City, Shanksville, PA and Washington, D.C. and documents first-hand accounts of rescue workers and survivors. This extensive collection of photographs and personal keepsakes will become a core component of the exhibits at the 9/11 Memorial Museum in NYC.

WTC Health Program
VOICES works with the World Trade Center Health Program to inform 9/11 recovery workers and other survivors about their potential eligibility for health care benefits that will address their 9/11-related medical and mental health issues. In one-on-one meetings, the staff explains the program and the application process.

Advocacy
VOICES continues to be a non-partisan advocate for sensible changes in public policy that make America safer, emphasizing the importance of applying the lessons learned in each disaster event. Among its focus areas, VOICES will encourage the adoption of disaster plans that include long-term care for families and survivors.
