Join us for our annual gathering for 9/11 families, survivors and responders and the dedicated professionals providing support services.

Held annually on the eve of the Anniversary, VOICES will host our 18th Annual Day of Remembrance Information Forum: Reflecting, Remembering, and Inspiring a Resilient Community.

You Are Here – A Come From Away Story

September 11, 2001. On that dark day, the citizens of Gander, Newfoundland welcomed 38 airliners and thousands of passengers who had no place else to go. Gander shone as the beacon of hope in the wake of tragedy, welcoming strangers who left as life-long friends. We are excited to announce that tickets are now available for YOU ARE HERE! This award-winning documentary will be shown in hundreds of theaters for one night only on Wednesday, September 11th. Find your theater and reserve your seats.

Please visit the website at www.walkwithjoe.com to register and obtain additional information. All proceeds are donated to local charities and non-profit organizations.

Teleconference Support Groups

At VOICES 17th Annual Day of Remembrance Information Forum, we were thrilled to have clinicians from the American Group Psychotherapy Association (AGPA) facilitate peer-to-peer group discussions. As a follow-up, the clinicians graciously hosted teleconference support groups in November, in partnership with VOICES staff. We hope to offer similar groups in the future to support the ongoing needs of our community.

Managing Stress to Improve Health & Wellness

Stress is a normal physical response to events that make you feel threatened or upset your balance in some way. But beyond a certain point, stress stops being helpful and starts causing major damage to your health, mood, productivity, relationships, and your quality of life. Chronic stress can negatively impact your life in many ways, from weight gain, to reduced energy levels, and even an increased risk of heart disease and type 2 diabetes. It's time to take control of stress instead of letting it control you!

Always Remember Commemorative Book

The "Always Remember" Commemorative Book will be sent to all our family members in the first week of June. We are grateful to the hundreds of people who have contributed to this project. Family members have created beautiful tributes to their loved ones. Friends and associates we have worked with over the past ten years have contributed their reflections. Artists have generously shared their talents with all of us. Thanks to the generous support of family members and friends who have purchased tributes for the program, we will be sending the book as a gift to all family members.

VOICES Attends Opening of 9/11 Memorial Glade

On May 30, VOICES was honored to witness the dedication and opening of the 9/11 Memorial Glade. The Glade honors all 9/11 responders, survivors, and community members who are sick or have died from exposure to toxins in the aftermath of 9/11. The Glade also recognizes the courage, selflessness and perseverance of the men and women of the rescue and recovery effort. “Like the heroes we lost on 9/11, their selfless acts provided light that helped guide us through our darkest hours and they allowed our city to rise again,” said former NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg.
